The tiger’s eye and a hawk’s eye are a type of quartz mineral. It’s usually used as a gemstone.
This is a chatoyant gemstone that is usually a metamorphic rock. The tiger’s eye has got usually golden to red-brown color and silky lustre. The hawk’s eye usually has got a bluish gray color whit asbestos-containing. Sometimes the whole crystal is a single color or golden-yellow bands of different thicknesses alternating with the dark base color. It has been known in Europe sience the 19th century and use to be a fashionable and expensive gem.
