Properties of Lava stone, physiological effects, zodiac signs and Lava stone jewelry.
Lava stone is a volcanic rock.
Lava rock is also known as basalt, which is formed when magma from volcanoes solidifies and hardens into rock. Lava rocks are very porous, meaning that they have many cavities on their surface where liquids or gases can flow through. This porosity is the result of the flow of lava or magma creating gas bubbles which, as they cool, form holes in their surface. These cavities are called vesicles. The density of lava rocks (basalts) is low because of their high porosity. Recently, there are problems in obtaining them, as most countries do not allow their sale. A primary reason is that volcanic rocks are usually found in protected areas owned by governments. Most of the lava rocks that can be bought today were either mined before the legislation came into force or smuggled out of the countries concerned.
